How it works

Three steps, no setup.

Pick a block

Classic 25/5, Deep 50/10, Long 90/20, or your own lengths. A long break comes after four blocks, and the next block can start by itself.

Focus in the room

The countdown lives in the tab title, the sky outside follows your clock, and rain, waves, wind, a fire or crickets play under the music. A chime tells you when the block ends.

Rate it and level up

Every finished block earns 10 XP a minute plus 50 for running to the end, counts as a study day for your streak and unlocks achievements that appear in the room as trophies, plants and posters.

The block runs on timestamps, not a ticking counter: a sleeping tab, a reload or a phone that locks itself cannot drift it, and a block you left running finishes on its own.

Questions

Is the study timer free?
Yes. The timer, every preset and custom length, the room, the music and the ambience mix are free, with or without an account. A free account keeps your Focus level, streak and achievements; Lifetime Pro adds room looks, window views, pets and the insights.
What is Pomodoro, and do I have to use it?
Pomodoro is the habit of working in fixed blocks with short breaks, classically 25 minutes on and 5 off, with a longer break every four blocks. The presets follow it; the custom lengths let you set any block from one minute to four hours.
How is the XP calculated?
10 Focus XP per focused minute, plus 50 for a block that runs to its end. A block stopped early still earns its minutes from five minutes on, but only completed blocks count for the block achievements. Ratings never change the XP.
What happens to my progress if I sign up later?
The blocks you finished on this device are kept in your browser for 30 days. The first time you open the timer signed in, they are imported: the XP, the streak day and the achievements they earned land on your account.
Where does the music come from?
From tracks published under a royalty-free licence and hosted by us, shuffled into a fresh order every day. There is no radio stream and no hidden video player, so nothing on the page plays ads.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The room and the timer fit a phone screen, the screen stays on while a block runs where the browser allows it, and the countdown is right after the phone locks. Music keeps playing in the background on most phones.
